The late Officer Sherman Toler at a vehicle wreck near Portales, N.M. Sherman was a wonderful person and great to work with, being very patient with a young reporter/photographer. Sadly, he was murdered a few years later after pulling over an ex-convict near Tucumcari. The driver of this car miraculously survived and wasn't even injured. The high-line pole creased the roof of the car, behind the driver's seat. (1984)
