My dad at the end of another day in the wheat field during harvest time. After we had our supper in the field, he leaned against the back of a pickup truck and seemed to be daydreaming. He didn't know I was taking his picture. (2012).

I saw this man's hat, his sunglasses and his face and knew I had to take a picture of him. He was quietly looking at items for sale at the Farmer's Market in Las Cruces and graciously agreed to stop and pose for me. I have a lot of admiration for people of his generation who fought for our country. (2011)

While working for the Portales News-Tribune, we were always looking for local feature photos (the paper did not subscribe to wire service photos). After an ice storm, I was driving down an alley looking up at the icicles hanging off the roof of a house when I came across this. Someone had left their old hat by the back door, creating an unusual scene. (1984)
