In some cases, I envision a photograph long before I ever take it. For years, I knew I wanted to pose my Grannie looking out of her kitchen window, using available light. Shortly before she moved out of the farm house, I was able to get the shot. When we were kids, we used to play on the west side of the house and she could watch us from this window to make sure everything was alright. This is how I will always remember her. (2000)
I never got to play organized football in the tiny community where I grew up, but my son decided to play last fall and it meant a lot to me to see him give it a shot. I took many pictures of him during the season, but this one is my favorite. He was jogging with some teammates before a game. (2010)
